Why don't you come along and experience a Try Dive for yourself?
Try dives are £10.00 per session and can be booked at anytime subject to instructor availability. On joining the club the £10.00 will be deducted off the membership fee.
A fantastic experience gives you a taster of what life is like underwater! And if you find that you enjoyed the try dive and want more, then why not join the dive club!
You have to be 18 years old or over to join, or 14 years if joining the club with a parent.
All training usually takes place in the winter in the pool, around October time. There are seven class room lectures starting at 7.30 – 8.30 each lecture, and then from 9.00pm till 10 pm in the pool. There will be a few sessions in the Black Lion swimming pool Gillingham, or Mote Park swimming pool in Maidstone .
The first Open Water dive is at Leybourne Lakes which is 8-9 metres deep.
Leybourne was specially adapted for divers with training platforms, some wrecks and a few sunken boats for you to explore.
The second Open Water dive is at Stoney Cove Leicestershire, which is a disused rock quarry, 35 metres deep and is the premium dive site in the UK. Stoney is specially adapted for divers with various wrecks, a Wessex helicopter, and a cockpit Viscount Aircraft.
Plymouth is the first sea dive, and usually takes place in May, over a long weekend. If you join the club you must be committed to spending time training down at Plymouth to complete your Ocean Diver training.
Further dives throughout the year culminating to a weeks' diving holiday in Scotland “The sound of Mull” where Ocean Divers will reach their Sports Divers qualification.
